Markoffs Haunted Forest

Markoffs is Maryland's original greatest Halloween event. There is so much going on that you're sure to soil yourself! Choose from 2 terrifying trails, and while you wait, indulge in a dozen other spine tingling events from zip-lines to zombie hunts. The Markoffs have been freaking patrons out for the past 20 years, and every year it gets a little crazier!

Calleva

The haunted forest is put on by Calleva Inc. In 1993, the Markoffs started the Haunted Forest in order to raise money to start a summer camp. Calleva is now a year-round outdoor school committed to teaching and building strong leaders through positive outdoor experiences. Thanks to the many great staff, friends, and family that have made our dream a reality.

For a Cause

Every year we donate a portion of our proceeds to different local charities/groups. This year we will be donating proceeds to:

  • Zombie Head Toss

We are running out of time and we have to dispose off all these zombie heads. Pick them up (5 heads) and shoot them into the buckets of entrails. Lets get this place clean for the party! There will be a washing station, after you handle these nasty heads!

    Cost: 2 tickets

  • Live Performances

Over the years we have had numerous live performances in the front Circle. From freaks getting out of the woods, to Ambulance Shows, Headless horseback riders, Bands of all styles, Dance Groups, and anything we feel that will add to this unique experience. Cost: A long drive into the boonies, and a great attitude! Check the calendar for Bands!

    Cost: Free

  • Zombie Zip Line

Zip-line leaves from the waiting area and sends you across the fields back towards the parking lot. After getting to the top of the platforms above the crowds at MHF, sail across the fields tethered to a cable!!! Very fun zip-line.

    Cost: 5 tickets.

  • Death Jump

One of the hardest challenges, is a platform 45' high on top of a telephone pole. You will be expected to climb, get ridiculed over the loud speaker and jump for the zombie. You get it and your reward is PRIDE - you miss and we will be sure to never let you forget it! Serious fun, serious challenge.

  • Concessions

We know that patrons try to feed their fear, and the MHF serves a wide variety of hot and cold food. Hot Cider/Cocoa to keep you warm, and lots of candies to keep the sugar high, and of course some funnel cake to fatten you up and make you easier for us to catch! We also serve Pizza (from local Pizzerias), Pork Sandwiches, and loads of other festive foods.

    Cost: Cash

  • Haunted Hayride

Go back in time to the MHF in the 90's! Before the crowds, all participants took you on a ride to the Forest - Now this ride will take you to our Haunted Town. This ride will make you get off the wagon and hopefully you will back alive! This is comparable to the Trails of the MHF!

    Cost: 6-7 tickets

  • Doomsday Prom Bus

This bus did not make it to the after party. You will need to find out why without loosing your life. Very simple, yet very hard. In one door and out the back without losing your "flag". Good luck! This is not the old Haunted Buses... look for those next year!

    Cost: 1 ticket

  • Haunted Canopy Tour

Fly above our Haunted Forest on a series of zip-lines, platforms, and cable bridges.... but beware, danger lurks in the trees! This is not for the faint of heart and requires patrons to connect themselves to a series of zip-lines and successive climbs! Not open on Thursday Oct 18.
